Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
- 2 slices of white bread
- Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 to 4 slices of ham
- 2 to 4 tablespoons gruyere cheese, shredded
- 3 to 4 tablespoons mornay sauce (from above)
- chives, thinly sliced (optional garnish)
