- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 6 egg whites (3/4 cup/175 mL)
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 3 cups fresh berries, such as strawberries, raspberries and blackberries
