Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons softened butter or margarine
• 4 tablespoons canola oil
• 2 large Galaor Fujiapples, peeled, cored and cut into bite-sized chunks
• 2 large Granny Smith apples,peeled,cored and cut into bite-sized chunks
• 1-1/2 cups apple cider, divided
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
• 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
• Pinch salt
• 1/4 cup apple butter, unsweetened
• 1/2 cup lowfat granola
