- 300g dried pasta (penne or rigatoni work well)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 400g tin chopped tomatoes
- 50ml pasta water (reserved)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, to serve
