- 1 5-oz. can water chestnuts, drained and diced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- dash hot red pepper sauce, such as Tabasco
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- Polynesian Sauce (recipe follows)
- 1 8 oz. can crushed pineapple in syrup
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1/2 cup white or apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 2/3 cup diced green bell pepper
