Jam buns remind me of childhood. Here is the recipe of the nostalgic old school jam buns that we used to get in small town bakeries
Ingredients
- Plain white flour- 2 cups for 6 medium buns.
- Active dry Yeast: 2tsp
- Warm milk: 1/2 cup
- Water: 1/3rd cup
- Sugar: 1 tsp + 1 tbsp
- Salt: A smidgeon
- Jam of your choice- I used raspberry jam
- Oil: 1 teaspoon
- Butter- 1 tsp For brushing + 1 tbsp melted to be added to the dough
- 1 tbsp maida to dust
