Holiday Sugar Cookies – Simmer + Sauce

Ingredients

• For the Sugar Cookies:
• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
• 1 teaspoon baking powder, sifted
• Dash of salt
• 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• 3/4 cup unsalted butter, slightly softened
• 1 egg
• For the Royal Icing:
• 4 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
• 3 tablespoons meringue powder
• 7-8 tablespoons water
• Witons Glitter Shimmer, for decorating (optional)
• Wiltons Sugar Pearl Sprinkles, for decorating (optional)
