Ingredients

• 1/4 cup unsalted butter
• 2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• 1 1/2 vanilla bean, split length wise, seeds scraped and reserved
• 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp ground ginger
• 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/8 tsp salt
• 6, green pears, peeled and cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices
• 12 (2 1/2-in) brioche slices, toasted
• 1/2 cup Student-Made Pear-Honey Fruit Spread
