A chocolate egg is a chocolate confection molded in the shape of an egg, most closely associated with Easter in Europe and North America. Hollow eggs are made by coating the inside of an egg-shaped mold with tempered chocolate and letting it set before unmolding; solid eggs are cast from a fully filled mold. Chocolate eggs are made from dark, milk, or white chocolate, are sometimes filled with smaller candies, cream centers, or toys, and are commonly wrapped in colored foil.
