Nori Powder

Ingredients

Nori powder is a seasoning made from dried nori seaweed that has been toasted and ground fine. It's distinct from furikake, a broader Japanese seasoning blend that often includes sesame seeds, dried fish, and salt alongside nori flakes or powder; nori powder on its own is just ground seaweed. It's sprinkled over rice, onigiri, soups, and salads for a salty, umami-rich, slightly sweet flavor, and is also used in vegetarian and vegan cooking as a seasoning for tofu, tempeh, and grain dishes. Nori powder is sold in small jars or packets and keeps for several months in an airtight container away from moisture.
