A tablespoon is a unit of volume, abbreviated tbsp or Tbsp. A US customary tablespoon is three US teaspoons, about 14.79 milliliters; a metric tablespoon is commonly 15 milliliters. Some recipe conventions differ, so check the source. An ordinary eating spoon is not a calibrated measure.
