- 2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

- For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam storebought or homemade
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg lightly beaten, for egg wash
- For the Frosting:
- 1 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
- multicolored sprinkles, for decoration (optional)
