Cherry Upside-Down Cake - Championship Catering

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
• 2 cups 14 oz fresh cherries, pitted and halved
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spoon into measuring cup and scrape off the top
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup 8 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened at room temp
• 2 large eggs, separated
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup whole milk, luke warm
• 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
