Ingredients

• 2 tbsp ginger & garlic paste
• 4 large tomatoes (sliced)
• 4 bay leave
• 8 green chilli (whole)
• 2 star anies
• 2 black cardamom
• 8 cloves
• 1/2 tsp black pepper corn
• 3 cinnamon stick
• 7 green cardamom
• 1 & 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
• 1 & 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
• 1 tsp garam masala powder
• 1 & 1/2 tsp fennel seeds powder
• 1 & 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 tsp coriander powder (heaped)
• 1 cup oil
• 3 medium onions (finely sliced)
• 1 kg rice (washed)
• 1 & 1/2 liters water
• 1 & 1/2 tsp salt (heaped)
• 3 tbsp kewra water
• 1/2 tsp food colour yellow
