• 1/4 cup Gefen Canola Oil
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1 tablespoon anise seed
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground mahlab (available in specialty spice shops)
• 1 and 1/4 cups water
• 1 beaten egg mixed with a pinch of salt, for glazing
• sesame seeds, black cumin seeds, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, rolled oats, or za’atar, for garnish
