- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Cornmeal, for dusting pan (optional)
- Egg wash: 1 egg plus 1 tablespoon milk (whisk together)
- 1 tablespoon sesame or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
