Paula Deen's Peach and Cherry Compote Recipe

- 5 pitted and sliced peaches
- 1 cup stemmed, pitted and chopped cherries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- cut into rustic strips, one per dish ready-made pie dough
- chilled, for serving heavy whipping cream
