- 500 ml (2 cups) strawberry tops, washed well
- 250 ml (1 cup) maple syrup (preferably golden syrup for its delicate flavour)
- 35 ml (1 oz) maple and strawberry tops syrup, or to taste
- Sparkling wine or sparkling cider, as needed
- 1 strawberry for garnish
