Alice's Nanaimo Bars – Recipe Wise

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
• 3 tablespoons cocoa
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
• 1/2 cup chopped nuts
• 1 cup coconut
• 2 cups icing sugar
• 1/4 cup soft butter or 1/4 cup margarine
• 2 tablespoons bird 's custard powder
• 1/4 - 1/2 cup heavy cream ( or amount necessary )
• 3 semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
• 1 1/2 teaspoons butter
