Grilled Steak Tacos (New Mexico Chili Powder) | Williams Sonoma

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped
• 1 jalapeño chili, seeded and minced
• 1 Tbs. chopped fresh oregano
• 1 tsp. ground cumin
• 1 Tbs. New Mexico chili powder
• 2 Tbs. chopped fresh cilantro
• 1 Tbs. tequila
• 1 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 flank steak, 2 1/2 to 3 lb., trimmed of fat and silver skin
• 12 small corn tortillas
• 2 avocados, halved, pitted, peeled and thinly sliced Salsa for serving
