• 2 cups sliced strawberries plus additional to serve
• ¾ cup granulated sugar (plus 1 tablespoon to dust sliced strawberries)
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter, softened
• 1 large egg
• 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
• ¾ cup buttermilk
• Topping ingredients:
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
• Soft whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries to serve
