• 1 pound Italian sausage (hot or sweet )
• 1 pound penne pasta ( or cork-screw pasta)
• 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (or olive oil)
• 1 onion (large chopped)
• 3 cloves garlic (minced)
• 28 ounces canned diced tomatoes (undrained)
• 2 teaspoons basil (dried)
• 1 teaspoon oregano (dried)
• 1/2 cup parsley (chopped fresh, optional)
• Pepper to taste
• 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
