Pasta with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe in a Garlice & Oil Brodino | Recipe Binder
Whole wheat pasta simmered with the meat in chicken broth. Broccoli rabe is not bitter at all. It’s a little soupy – my daughter likes it that way – but you can strain it out.
Ingredients
- Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1/2 Vidalia onion, roughly chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced with a mandolin
- 1/2 c dry white wine
- 3 c chicken stock
- 1/2 box (6 oz) whole wheat fusili/rotini pasta
- 1 large bunch of broccoli rabe, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces (3 cuts)
- 1/4 red pepper, julienned
- 2 T butter, cut up in small pieces
- 1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 c fresh basil, chopped
