I turned my sweet and peppery noodle kugel into a delicious onion-noodle kugel. The addition of the fried onions really brought this dish up a notch.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 large sweet onion, diced
- 4 and 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup trans-fat-free margarine (1/2 stick)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground Gefen Black Pepper, or to taste
- 1 bag (12 ounces) thin noodles, such as Gefen Fine Noodles
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
