- 125 ml ( 1/2 cup) amber rum
- 170 ml ( 1/2 cup plus 3 tbsp) canola oil
- 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla
- 125 ml ( 1/2 cup) chopped walnuts or pecans
- 50 ml ( 1/4 cup) water
- 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
