Best Bolognese Sauce
Just about everyone has a version of bolognese. My particular version has developed over the years from my early failures, some interesting experiments that just did't work at all, to what now has...
Ingredients
- 500g of beef mince
- 250g of pork mince
- 2 onions, medium and finely chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves chopped
- 250g of sliced mushroom, portobello
- 2 carrots shredded
- 2 celery sticks fined sliced/chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 1-2 tsp dry oregano
- 2 tins (400g) of chopped tomato
- 1½ tbs tomato paste
- 1½ white wine (feel free to use red, the sauce will be a richer colour)
- salt & pepper
