- 1 pound green cabbage, finely shredded
- 2 to 3 fresh red or green chiles, finely chopped
- 1 sweet red or white onion, sliced paper-thin
- ½ cup shredded fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup chopped fresh coriander (cilantro) stems and leaves
- Juice of 2 (or more) limes
- 3 tablespoons (about) olive oil (optional)
- granulated sugar to taste (optional)
- Salt to taste
