Stellar St. Patrick's Corned Beef and Cabbage

Ingredients

• Corned beef brisket with spice packet, 5 pounds none
• Bay leaves, 3 whole none
• Garlic cloves, 4 minced
• Bottle of stout beer, 1 bottle preferably Irish
• Water, enough to cover the brisket none
• Red potatoes, 8 medium halved
• Carrots, 4 peeled and sliced into 2-inch pieces
• Large head of cabbage, 1 large head cut into small wedges
• Fresh parsley, handful chopped for garnish
• Salt and pepper, to taste none
