• 2/3 cup granulated sugar
• 1 1/2 cup milk
• 1 1/2 tbsp butter, unsalted
• 1 egg yolk, beaten
• 1 tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract)
• 1 rind of lemon
• Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 2 tbsp milk)
