Meatball Subs

Ingredients

• 2 garlic cloves, pressed
• 3 hoagie rolls
• 1/2 lb ground beef, 85%/15%
• 1/2 lb ground pork
• 1 egg
• 1 thin slice of whole wheat bread, soaked in milk and squeezed
• 1/4 cup minced yellow onion
• 1/4 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
• 1 tbsp fresh minced basil
• 1/2 tbsp fresh minced parsley
• 1/2-1 tsp kosher coarse or sea salt, to taste
• 3 tbsp fresh grated Parmesan cheese
• 1-1.5 cup marinara sauce
• 1-1.5 cup thick shredded Mozzarella cheese
• 2 tsp dried oregano
• 1/8-1/4 tsp black pepper, to taste
• 12 Italian Meatballs
