Ingredients

• For the soup
• 4-5 large onions sliced about 1cm thick slices
• 2/3 T oil or melted butter
• 2 T sugar
• 1.2 litres chicken stock
• Salt and pepper for seasoning
• For the dumplings
• 1 1/2 cups self raising flour
• Pinch of salt
• 1 t mustard powder
• 1/3 grated cheddar cheese
• 1 T grated Parmesan cheese
• 125-150 ml milk
