• 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
• 1 cup milk
• 2 eggs, lightly beaten
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 3/4 cup sugar (plus extra for sprinkling on the tops)
• 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped into very small pieces
