- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoons baking soda, scant
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon allspice, large
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, large
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
