Prairie Spice Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup rolled oats
• 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or multigrain flour
• 1/4 cup barley flour
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 cup flax
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 cup ground flax
• 1/2 cup canola oil
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2/3 cup honey
• 1 1/2 cups lentil puree*
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1/2 cup chopped dates
• 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/4 cup non-hydrogenated canola margarine
• 2 Tbsp cream or milk
• 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans
