Cherry Pie with Almonds

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup sliced almonds, divided
• Pastry for 9-inch double crust pie
• 1 egg, beaten
• 4 cups Stemilt sweet cherries (pitted)
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 2 tbsp red wine
