- 85g golden syrup
- 350g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg, beaten
- gold shimmer and leaf, to decorate (optional)
