Lynn's Recipes - Cottage Pie/Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

• 2 Tablespoons corn oil
• 2 small yellow onions, finely chopped
• 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 1-2 teaspoons dried thyme
• 2 cups water
• 1 Tablespoon Kitchen Bouquet browning and seasoning sauce
• 2 beef bouillon cubes
• 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 2 pounds peeled and cubed red potatoes
• ½ stick butter
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper
• 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
• 1 egg yolk
• ¼ cup heavy cream
• 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
