• 3 cups dried black beans
• 1 ham bone
• 3 quarts water
• 3 slices bacon sliced
• 1 clove garlic minced
• 1/4 teaspoon Dried thyme
• 1 Bay leaf
• 2 cups Finely chopped onions
• 1 carrot diced
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper
• 1/2 cup Sherry
