• 1 cup chopped apples, plus additional apple slices for garnish, optional
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 2 cups Robin Hood ® Original All Purpose Flour
• 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tbsp granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup All Vegetable Shortening
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, plus additional for topping, optional
• 4 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
• 1 cup buttermilk, plus additional for brushing, optional
