• 4 cups water
• 1 cup lentils, rinsed and picked over
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 a medium onion, chopped
• 1 medium potato, peeled and diced
• 2 large carrots, diced
• 1 head of kale, chopped
• 1 teaspoon thyme
