Ingredients

• 2 ounces semisweet chocolate
• 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup 2% milk
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 4 slices day-old bread, crusts removed, cut into cubes (about 3 cups)
