- 1 1/2 lb (680 g) of extra lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup of dry breadcrumbs (I only had Progresso Italian and used them)
- 1/3 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce, divided
- 1 tbsp of prepared mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp of chili powder
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt (I left that out—there's enough in the bread crumbs and bbq sauce for us)
- 1/2 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
- 2 large egg whites (I used 1 whole egg)
