• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 celery stalks, chopped
• 1 jalapeno chili pepper, seeded and chopped
• 2 tbsp butter
• 1 ½ lb (675 g) medium-lean ground beef
• 1 tbsp chili powder
• 1 cup (250 ml) beef broth
• 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
• 2 tbsp (30 ml) chili sauce
• 2 tbsp (30 ml) relish
• 1 tbsp (15 ml) prepared mustard
• 2 tsp (10 ml) hot sauce (optional)
• 1 cup (100 g) Tex-Mex cheese, grated
