Salsa Pizzaiola - Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 cup onions finely chopped
• 1 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
• 4 cups plum tomatoes or whole-pack tomatoes, coursely chopped, but not drained
• 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
• 1 tablespoon Dried oregano crumbled
• 1 tablespoon fresh basil finely cut (or sub 1 tsp dried)
• 1 bay leaf
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• 1 tablespoon salt
• Freshly ground pepper to taste
