Blighat Sesame Bows - Rouba Shahin Middle Eastern Cooking
Sesame bows (Blighat) are a Moroccan pastry with sesame seeds, flavoured with orange blossom, fennel and aniseed and coated with honey.
Ingredients
- 250 grams sesame seeds (untoasted)
- 250 grams of plain flour (sifted)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon aniseed ground
- ½ teaspoon fennel seed ground
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup orange blossom water
- 30 grams unsalted butter softened
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2-6 tablespoons of water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Pure honey for coating
