Kiwi Mince and Cheese Pie - Bake with Amy
My mince and cheese pie reminds me of NZ. I made it just the way I remembered - mince gravy with oozing cheese, encased in flaky pastry.
Ingredients
- 400 g lean mince beef (I used 10% fat)
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ large onion, thinly diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 30 g plain flour
- 500 ml beef stock
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 150 g grated tasty cheese
- 2 sheets of short crust pastry (store bought)
- 2 sheets of puff pastry (store bought)
- 1 egg, beaten(for egg wash)
- salt and pepper to season
