• 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 2 cups (about 1/2 pound) confectionersí sugar
• 6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
• 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup confectionersí sugar for garnish (optional)
