Black & White Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

• 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp. table salt
• ¼ tsp. each baking powder and baking soda
• 1 stick unsalted butter (8 Tbsp.), softened
• ½ cup shortening
• 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
• Minced zest of ½ a lemon and ½ an orange
• 2 eggs
• 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
• ¼ cup heavy cream
• ½ cup water
• ¼ cup light corn syrup
• 5 cups powdered sugar, sifted
• ½ tsp. pure vanilla extract
• 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped and melted
• ¼ tsp. espresso powder
