• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
• 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1 cup milk
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup apples, peeled and finely diced
• 3/4 cup diced caramel candy squares (about 12)
