Delicious American Fudge Cake with Icing

Ingredients

• 2/3 cup soft butter or margarine
• 1 ¼ cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
• ¾ of baking chocolate bar (large), melted and cooled
• 2 ½ cups flour
• 1 ¼ teaspoons soda = natron
• ½ tsp. salt
• 1 ¼ cold water
• 1 ½ cups of sugar
• 1/8 teaspoon of cream of tartar
• 1/3 cup of water
• 2 egg whites (unbeaten)
• 1 tsp of vanilla
